Directs the creative function so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations, work style and other elements support the strategic goals and brand of the agency.
Manages art direction, design, copywriting and production of projects.
Analyzes the creative team, environment, processes, technologies, etc., to determine areas needing improvement; and build and direct a creative function aligned with and supportive of those goals.
Makes decisions on a daily basis that ensure both profitability and creative quality
Sets expectations and standards (build a culture) for creative team attitude, behavior, teamwork and professional development. Lead accordingly - conduct staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions.
Studies the creative marketplace, assessing whe-re the agency's work stands against competitors', as well as our clients' competitors' creative work.
Works with the account lead to ensure that internal and client presentations are on time, professional, engaging, persuasive and supported by a sound rationale.
Participates in the development of agency plans and programs by advising, evaluating and assisting in moving initiatives forward.
Provides creative leadership on all new business efforts.
Provides a strong voice for all needs of the Creative department.
Builds and maintains working relationships with key clients.
Oversees development of department policies, programs and systems to support strategic direction and organizational objectives of the agency.
Defines and espouses the agency’s creative vision, philosophy and principles.
Structures the Creative department to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time with the right tools to succeed in their job.
Instills a passion for unselfish collaboration, trust and teamwork throughout the Creative department.
Leads, develops, manages and nurtures all Creative staff.
Provides problem analysis and problem resolution at both a Creative and organizational level.
Stays on top of industry, creative and managerial trends so that the department is continually prepared to compete and win in the marketplace.
Contributes to the strategic direction of all agency clients.
Demonstrates a strong ability to present and sell creative internally and to clients.
Manages all department funds and works closely with finance to forecast budgets.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
12+ years’ agency experience in increasingly responsible managerial roles.
Demonstrated experience across a wide range of marketing channels including shopper marketing/retail and branding.
Strong understanding of client business needs and how it applies to marketing strategy, objectives and creative deliverables.
Strong articulation of a creative philosophy and the ability to share that philosophy throughout the organization.
Skill at developing and delivering presentations.
Ability to prioritize, manage and efficiently complete multiple projects to meet shifting needs
A strong grounding in below-the line marketing agencies
Being a switched- on creative thinker who reads industry press and is fascinated by the continual evolution of marketing disciplines and technologies.
A track record of working with senior business minds to help them articulate their messages to their customers, then you can translate them into identity and creative that is breakthrough and compelling.
