Global Risk -

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team in the role of Credit Policy and Portfolio Manager (GCB6)

In this role, you will:

• Develop, implement and review credit policy and procedures under the guidance of the Head of Credit Portfolio Management to support business growth and profit maximisation while maintaining the balance between risk and reward over the credit life cycle of retail products;
• Participate and support key strategic projects such as Digital lending, Basel II implementation and Stress Testing/ICAAP;
• Provide analysis to highlight any areas of concern or emerging trends in term of deteriorated credit quality or reduced profitability across all retail products;
• Support stakeholders across the business locally (sales, underwriting services, product teams) and regional risk teams;
• Provide support to Risk and RBWM to support growth initiatives and streamlining opportunities, while ensuring the risks are well controlled;
• Prepare management information and presentations for credit committees, such as the Local Risk Forum, RMM, Country Review Meeting, etc.

Job Requirement

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 

• At least 3 years’ experience in related fields (previous experience in one of the following is desirable: risk management/credit policy/credit operations/approvals/collections/product analytics);
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in relation to Banking, Finance, Data, Analytics
• Excellent ability to process and analyse complex data to obtain insights through data analysis and MI;
• Knowledge of retail lending products and the Vietnam lending environment;
• Ability to confidently manage and support a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. sales, product, underwriting team, risk, regional teams, etc.);
• Proficient in written and spoken English/Vietnamese;
• Knowledge of data analytic software (SAS/SQL) is preferred;
• An advantage to have experience of lending system and/or knowledge of modelling (e.g. credit scorecards)
