Job Description

Job / Tasks description:

The incumbent will be fully responsible for leading a team of Relationship Managers to promote a range of products and services to various customers, including but not limited to corporate, institutional and governmental customers within the Asia & Oceania region.

The incumbent will also be responsible for assessing the customers and industries risk to support the team in structuring complex deals to mitigate risk to the Bank as well as reviewing all credit applications for deals within the team to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy and delivers a high quality of service to customers.

The main responsibilities will be included but not limited to:

· Develop and lead the department’s business plan of identifying new revenue opportunities and building customer as well as revenue business to align to the Bank’s direction/vision.

· Understand the competitive landscape, review department’s performance and identify opportunities for growth as well as risks.

· Lead the promotion of products to customers and identify and promote cross selling opportunities.

· Oversee the delivery of relevant banking services to customers to meet the department's revenue targets.

· Develop business opportunities in consideration of RORA and profit targets.

· Lead and support groups of Relationship Managers within department to build effective relationships with key customers to develop new business and to deliver a high quality of service to customers.

· Anticipate as well as be sensitive to shifting customer expectations and guide the department to consider appropriate measures to ensure the Bank stays ahead of competitors.

· Work in partnership with colleagues across the region to deliver an integrated service for our customers, as well as to share knowledge and best practice on corporate banking topics.

· Work in partnership with Relationship Managers across Branches to share knowledge, best practice on Corporate Banking topics, and support Relationship Managers of other branches for complex cross boarder deals.

· Work in partnership with colleagues in Head Office to discuss complex deals and seek commercial solutions for the customer.

· Work in partnership with various departments including but not limited to Loan Syndications, Operations and Legal to support seamless transactions to customers.

· Work in partnership with Credit on any credit issues associated with the deal.

· Visit local and overseas customers when required, to represent the business to resolve complex issues and maintain the customer’s relationship as well as services.

· Visit local customers on a regular basis in order to be vigilant on customer issues and potential business opportunities.

· Responsible for managing (objective setting & performance management), developing (coaching, career progression & training) and rewarding (financial and non-financial reward decisions) for Direct Reports.

· Act as a role model to department team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines.

· Support, coach and guide groups of Relationship Managers within department on complex Corporate Banking issues.

· Support Relationship Managers in the department by leading the meeting or presentation to senior level customers.

· Review all deal proposals and credit applications if necessary to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy, delivers a high quality of service to customers and mitigates risk for the Bank.

· Review presentation materials for pitches prepared by the department team members and provide input.

· Support Relationship Managers in the department by leading difficult negotiations with customers including but not limited to contract terms and conditions and pricing, as well as seek commercial solutions to finalize the deal.

· Lead and support initiatives to drive the implementation of the department’s business strategy to build the customer base and increase revenue business.

· Manage the risk profile of the department's portfolio by contributing to customer pipelining/account planning discussions to select financially healthy customers.

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and limits.

· Develop and lead departmental initiatives to deliver increase revenue opportunities and deliver a high quality of service to customers.

· Participate in relevant committees regionally as well as globally.

· Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.

· Act as a Subject Matter Expert on corporate banking to management.

Job Requirement

·         University graduate

·         At least 15+ years of relevant experience at managerial level.

·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others and sell products. 

·         Excellent command of English (both in written and spoken).

·         Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.

·         Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership skills to manage the department.

·         In-depth knowledge of corporate banking products and services.

·         In-depth knowledge in corporate finance and corporate credit analysis.

·         Strong understanding of the regional banking regulatory environment with particular focus on the local regulations.
