Job Description

Purpose of the role:

The role of Academic Officer at Him Lam International School is to provide support in the development of curriculum documentation, processes and development as assigned by Academic Director. This position will be a combination of work on campus and at GEET HO as required.

This position is suitable for graduate-level entry, for those actively motivated to work in academic administration. This is an opportunity to work with an established international organization, and to contribute and grow with the Him Lam International School network.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of most current MOET requirements and ensure processes in place meet the essential criteria.
  • Assist in the coordination with curriculum providers such as IB, Cambridge, Fieldwork, Oxford, etc.
  • Evaluate and support faculty understanding of the horizontal and vertical alignment of the K-12 curriculum pathways.
  • Maintain clear documentation of the curriculum, planning and student assessment procedures.
  • Participate in the development of the school's Action Plan in regards to curriculum development.
  • Collate and report on staff feedback on the curriculum on a semesterly basis.
  • Research and recommend curriculum related professional development (PD) opportunities for faculty members.
  • Assist in Quality Assurance (QA) processes including the development of tools for evaluating teaching and learning and related PD, and support.
  • Support the development of student support initiatives to boost language acquisition

Job Requirement

1. Education

  • Final Years Students in Education with major in English/teaching in English or in other related disciplines

2. Working Time

  • Part-time/Full-time as equivalent to 20 hours/40 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule

3. Skills & Knowledge

  • Fluent in English.
  • A solutions-oriented multitasker with strong administrative and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to withstand high pressure at work.
  • Being assertive, honest, and effective at work
