Mô tả Công việc

We are looking to hire an independent consultant for a period of 2-3 months to lead development of the holistic Vietnam Strategy to achieve 4 main objectives:

1. Assess key market shaping forces and how it affects us (risks and opportunities) in immediate future and from longer term perspective including (but not limited to):

a. Macroeconomics such as market growth projection and drivers (currency and economic performance, political landscape, childbirth rates, morbidity, main therapeutic areas comparative performance and outlook etc.)

b. Comparative performance of different market segments e.g. Hospital, Private, Trade including: an outlook on specific molecules’ competitive advantage, key players, key payers and their propensity to pay; point of view on the pricing tier system in relation to the tender segment and optimal positioning

c. Competitor analysis, their best practices and success factors as well as the areas where Abbott should compete and win (across TAs and channels)

2. Develop commercial strategy with a focus on growing top line sales by outperforming market growth including (but not limited to):

a. Review of our current portfolio and the prospective pipeline to identify products that will give competitive advantage

b. Based on the market analysis identify the gap between the current portfolio and pipeline and the target state

c. Model top line impact should the identified gap be closed and an associated business case for required investment

3. Develop manufacturing strategy with a focus on maximizing profitability including (but not limited to):

a. Outline available make vs buy manufacturing options including relative pros and cons

b. Based on a quantitative model and qualitative assessment, propose the optimal option and associated gains/tradeoffs

c. Forecast the profitability impact of implementing the optimal option

4. Develop an Operating Model for the 3 parts of our business with a focus on improving the organizational set-up and synergies throughout the value chain including (but not limited to):

a. Options for legal entities structure

b. General management set-up for the proposed legal entities

c. Supporting functions set-up

d. Forecast the profitability impact of implementing the optimal option

Our consulting partner will be responsible for working with the affiliate, regional and Basel HQ teams as well as external thought leaders in a matrix environment.

It will be vital to be able to connect the dots between the strategic understanding of the market shaping forces (market access, macro-economics, regulatory etc.) and from a functional perspective 3 parts of the strategy (commercial, manufacturing and organizational).

We expect the consultant to be able to provide a substantiated point of view (present and future forecast) based on quantitative/qualitative sources and experience in the following areas (not exhaustive):

 

1.       Market trends and driving forces

2.       Pricing and Reimbursement policies incl. reference pricing

3.       Other market access considerations (e.g. Tender regulations outlook)

4.       Major regulatory and quality considerations

5.       Competitive intelligence, relative strengths and go to market strategies of key players on the Vietnam pharmaceutical market

6.       Performance and key considerations specific to our therapeutic areas and molecules

7.       Key market segments (Rx, OTC, Tender, Private)

8.       Manufacturing standards and GMP expectations (current and future)

9.       Manufacturing/ Footprint considerations (e.g. make vs buy)

10.   Relative pros and cons of different organizational/ legal entity/ support structure set-ups

11.   Quantitatively modelled P/L implications of implementing the proposed strategy

We are hence looking for a partner with functional knowledge of the above areas that can be proven by specific examples of positive track record specifically in a pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam. With at least 7 years of relevant experience.

Our ideal partner will be able to work under tight deadlines in a dynamically changing environment; well connected with local thought leaders; be good at analysis, structuring and presenting the outcomes of their work.
